The Challenge: Aligning company culture and their people leaders
Prior to the CPO being brought on, MyRepublic went through a period of rapid employee growth and market expansions. With this growth, the management team started to see friction between the regional leadership teams and it being a constraint to their further growth. They attributed it to leadership skills that were missing and inconsistencies between leadership experience and culture.
"Traditionally we only had senior leadership and juniors. We want to start building and developing middle managers, the leaders of tomorrow" - CEO
MyRepublic wanted to start investing in their leaders of tomorrow and prepare their whole workforce for the upcoming "hyper scaling phase". MyRepublic started partnering with NewCampus with the goal of building consistent leadership aligned with their culture across all their regions.
The Solution: A new way to up-skill their people managers and leaders
After researching various vendors, the CPO selected NewCampus based on their modern curriculum, ease of implementation and learning experience designed around behavioural change.
Remote first delivery
The people experience team was a small team looking after employees from three different timezones. That and the post-pandemic world made an online program a perfect fit for MyRepublic's leaders and their busy schedules.
Live learning experience
Engagement was key in any learning initiative pushed out from company to employee. NewCampus's live sessions and cohort style delivery helped not only create new bonds between leaders from various teams, but also a practical and interactive learning experience which changed their perspective on personal development.
Learning Sprints
MyRepublic had identified different learning needs with different groups of people leaders. NewCampus's learning sprints, enabled them to curate different cohorts of leaders tackling similar leadership challenges which required different learning needs. Some of the sprints prioritised first were emotional intelligence, first-time manager training and critical thinking.
Conclusion
Result: A company culture towards leadership development
The program was rated an average of 8.5 by MyRepublic's first cohort of leaders and had a 100% attendance record. Most found the skills taught to be highly relevant and able to be actionable right away in their work routine.
"It was such a rewarding experience to be part of and to see our company investing in our careers. Having Malcolm the CEO join one of the session, really reinforced how much management cares." - People Manager
By partnering with NewCampus, MyRepublic created a way to invest in their people leaders on an on-going basis, which has been highly valued by their employees and created on-going best practises to which the companies' operations can be managed.
