How would you describe your current role to a HR outsider?
Taking care of A to Z people matters in Bank Neo Commerce. Partnering closely with Senior Leadership Team to provide advisory in all round people & organization.
What is a common misconception about the work you do?
HR is job is to hire and fire people.
HR job is to implement instruction, not strategic.
How did you get started in your HR career?
I graduated from Accounting major and stumbled upon People areas because of my interest in Leadership Trainings & Development. My first job was in Training & Development Consultant, over there I was in and out of training/workshops/seminars on leadership & communication, and can not get enough of the experiences. knowledge & insights shared on the sessions.
After completing my master in Psychology, I started my career as HR in Banking, the role was Learning Consultant. My HR competencies grows from there, from Learning & Development, to HR Risk & Governance, Culture & Engagement, Reward & Compensations, Industrial Relation, Talent Management & OD.
Describe the most impactful HR project you've personally worked on.
Project Name: Joyful Integration, an integration project between 2 companies.
The objective is to design & implement Employee Journey during integration is joyful. No employee dispute during termination and rehiring, low numbers of no shows employees, so the company can run smooth since day 1. The team designing the path to be taken from the target employees, discover the pain points of each process, and we use technology to allow targeted employees to be able to visually see what to be expected on the journey, we also ensure communication channels are optimized.
What is one HR/future of work trend or change you're not convinced will work for SEA startups?
It is important for team or organization in forming/storming phase to foster that face to face interactions, communication and organic bonding. Therefore, even though flexibility & autonomy resulting from remote working are able to drive creativity, from team development perspective, organization still need to have face to face interaction as part of their working rhythms, which fully remote working arrangement might not be able to provide.
What is one HR/future of work trend or change that you hope to see more of at SEA startups?
Flexibility & autonomy resulting from remote working are able to drive creativity, from team development perspective, organization still need to have face to face interaction as part of their working rhythms, which fully remote working arrangement might not be able to provide.More collaboration amongst startups and widen ecosystem, more platform to foster knowledge, exposures, experience sharing between experts from multiple industries.

Lastly, where are you based, and where would you take friends visiting your city for the first time?
Based in Jakarta, visiting the old Batavia would be nice for first timer, then dinner at Sunda Kelapa Harbour.
