How would you describe your current role and the biggest challenges you face?

I spearhead efforts to drive premium Android phone adoption in SEA, by collaborating with phone manufacturer to develop co-marketing campaigns. The biggest challenge I face is shifting the deeply ingrained brand perception that another competitor brand is the sole symbol of wealth and status when it comes to premium smartphones.

What is a common misconception about the work you do?

Marketing is just about creating creative assets.

How did you get started in your marketing career?

I love market research and enjoy understanding what drives consumer behavior. This curiosity led me to an internship at Google, my first taste of the marketing field, which I thoroughly enjoyed. When they offered a full-time position, it was a no-brainer.

Describe the most impactful marketing campaign/project you've personally worked on.

Launched YouTube Impact Report to show contributions to Indonesia's human development and creative economy. A lot of key decision makers in Indonesia shared this in their social media and press, including Sri Mulyani and Sandiaga Uno.

What is one marketing trend or change you're not convinced will work for SEA tech brands?

Complete reliance on AI-generated content in the short term.

What is one marketing trend or change that you hope to see more of at SEA tech brands? And, why?

Build small but strong users communities.

What is your favourite marketing resource that you would recommend to this community? And, why?

YouTube as the resource for creative inspiration.

Lastly, where are you based, and where would you take friends visiting your city for the first time?

Jakarta, I'll bring them to the diverse international cuisine scene here!
